Dennis Okello is a Technical Advisor for Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation on the Learning team. He supports leadership and jointly coordinates the implementation of the Raising Voices Learning Strategy. Dennis brings more than 10 years of experience in programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, with a focus on preventing violence against women and children. His professional background combines M&E, economics and statistics, supported by additional training across key areas of development practice. His areas of expertise include Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), safeguarding and accountability in emergencies, power analysis and human rights-based approaches, youth development practice, youth work, youth entrepreneurship development, team building and personality development. Dennis is a feminist who believes in a world where everyone is treated equally and with dignity. Before joining his current role, he held several programme and M&E leadership positions focused on gender equality and GBV prevention and response in Uganda. His previous roles include National Project Coordinator for the Sustainability of GBV Shelters for Effective Prevention and Response to GBV in Uganda; M&E Coordinator and Technical Programme Coordinator for the Support to Uganda’s Response to Gender Equality (SURGE) programme; M&E Officer for GBV shelters at ActionAid International Uganda; Systems Analyst at Data Care (U) Limited and M&E Consultant at Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern & Central Africa (ASARECA). Dennis is also a personality development trainer who enjoys helping individuals and teams bring out their best. Outside work, he has a strong passion for swimming and music. He is known for his sense of humour, positive energy and ability to bring fun and laughter to what he does.
