Aidan Eyakuze, an economist, is Executive Director of Twaweza East Africa. Twaweza works to enable children to learn, citizens to exercise agency and governments to be more open and accountable in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. In 2016, Aidan was appointed to the global Steering Committee of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) where he served for 7 years including as Civil Society Co-Chair jointly with the Government of Italy. He serves on the global boards of the OGP, the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD) and the Open Contracting Partnership (OCP). Aidan was named as one of the “World’s 50 Most Influential People Revolutionising Government” by Apolitical and the World Economic Forum in 2020.
