We are seeking qualified and passionate Regional Resource Persons (RRPs) to support the implementation of the Good School Toolkit Agile (GST Agile), an innovative approach adapted to create good, nurturing, and violence-free environments for children. The Toolkit has been instrumental in transforming school cultures by fostering positive relationships among learners, teachers, administrators, and the community. A Regional Resource Person (RRP) is an individual recruited through a rigorous process to support the roll out of the GST in an assigned number of schools. This is not a full-time position and an RRP can combine this role with other duties.

Raising Voices, a feminist non-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda, is dedicated to preventing violence against women and children through transformative programming and social change. We strive to challenge unjust power dynamics and promote social justice, recognizing that violence is an abuse of power at individual, normative, systemic, and structural levels.

Role of Regional Resource Persons:

  • Recruitment and Support: RRPs will be responsible for identifying schools in designated districts and providing ongoing support to ensure successful implementation of the GST Agile.
  • Capacity Building: They will facilitate training of school staff, learners, parents, and district education officials.
  • Monitoring and Feedback: RRPs will monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure that the Toolkit is adapted effectively to meet local needs.

Qualifications for Regional Resource Persons:

  • Education: Hold a degree or diploma in a relevant field like education and social sciences.
  • Experience: Proven experience in education, social development, or a related field, with a focus on violence prevention or child protection and safeguarding.
  • Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion: A strong passion for working with children and contributing to their well-being.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the Good School Toolkit or generally Raising Voices work is an added advantage.
  • Technology Skills: Basic proficiency in using digital tools (e.g., data entry, email, Microsoft Office) for reporting and communication.

Nature of the Role:

This is a voluntary part-time engagement that requires a few days of your time each school term to visit schools and support the implementation of the Good School Toolkit. It is ideal for individuals who can dedicate a portion of their schedule to this important work without needing to leave their full-time employment.

  • Districts of Focus:
Applicants must be residents of the following districts: Luuka, Lwengo, Mukono, Buikwe, Iganga, Bugiri, Rakai, Kyenjojo, Kamwenge, Kyegegwa, Kole, Kwania, Oyam, and Alebtong.
