Lori is a Co-Founder at Raising Voices, where she invests abundant energy to support and sustain a dynamic feminist work environment. Involved in all aspects of work at Raising Voices, with a particular emphasis on violence against women prevention, Lori spends her days supporting staff and strategy development, developing ideas and programs, learning from experiences on the ground and discovering new ways to promote violence prevention. Lori is particularly inspired by the fusion of activism and art. Lori is the author of several groundbreaking violence prevention articles and methodologies, including SASA!, serves on many advisory boards and is the co-convener of the Community for Understanding Scale Up (CUSP). She received her Master’s Degree in Human Rights at Makerere University, and after 20 years of being based full time in East Africa, she now splits her time between Boston and Kampala.
